Heard of enyu, raigo, kinshu...? Can't Post

Hi all,

I posted in a KoiMag BBS a few days back asking about several kinds of koi, namely the 'kinshu', the 'koshi no hisoku', the 'raigo', the 'enyu' and the 'zuiun'.

Mr. Bernie Woollands from the NI forum had kindly sent me some pictures from the book "Living Jewels", published in the late 1960's.

Here they are, a break from the go-sankes!

Kinshu

Zuiun

Koshi No Hisoku

Raigo

and my personal favourite of the 5, the Enyu!~

Comments, anyone? Wink

Cheers,

Daniel

The Raigo blue/orange hue looks nice. It will add some colours to the sea of red-white-black. Anyone know if they are sold in the KL/PJ area?

Hi! fellow forum friends,

Thanks Mr. Khoo for posting up the pic. for me.

Daniel, you post here & Cyberfins = so long still no answer. Mad Ok lah! Some info here for you. Hope is useful. Sorry take so long to reply - misplace my chart. Only now then found it. Blush

Pls. note these varieties are rather old (since 1990 period) & still not stablized. Never been accepted by ZNA or Shinkokai as new variety = unlike Kikokuryu, which had been accepted under Kawarimono group.

In my opinion - these are actually cull-off. If like can keep to appreciate, but not compete. Smile

Pls. note Kinsu is not Kinsui. Kinsui/Ginsui are the Hikarimono-moyo of the Shusui. These are accepted varieties by ZNA/Shinkokai under Hikarimono-moyo classification.

Rdgs,
Eric Lim

Hi all

Thanks for your replies!

Finally some response... Unsure

Yup I understand these are somewhat 'culls'... which is quite a pity, in my own opinion.

If we want to keep to appreciate, we also need to find the fish itself before we can keep mah! I haven't seen any around, or maybe I haven't seen enough...Tongue

Yes I am aware that the Kinshu is not the same as the Kinsui. Thanks for sharing.

Actually I posted the pictures for all to share, since these varieties are non too common. Well, koi isn't all about kohakus and sankes, are they?Smile

Cheers,

Daniel

Hi all! I came across this older post & am interested in info on these varieties. Especially the Koshi & Enyu. If anyone has any pics or info on these types, please post. Also....what exactly is the difference in the Koshi No Hisoku & Doitsu Midorigoi.

Thanks in advance!!!
