How to make a venturi system?	Can't Post

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to increase DO level in my new pond. Currently, I just added a spray bar. I already have a small stream. I'm trying to make a venturi but the water keep coming out from the air intake.

It is about 2 inches from the surface using 20mm PVC pipe. What am I doing wrong? Is the water pressure too strong? It seems too easy when I watch it in the koi shop but I'm struggling to make it right.

Hi Rahim,
I just made one and it works now, I think you have the same Problem as I had before. Please make the pipe after the nozzle longer so the water pushed by the nozzle in the pipe could bring the air together.

Any way, from what material you made it ? I made it from 1" PVC pipe, it's adjustable and costs me about USD 5.

Hi Ridwan,

I have a working venturi now. I set it up 2 days ago following the advise from Koi USA forum. I posted the same question there and the guy named John invited me to his website where the diagram and pictures of his venturi. It works.

I believe the secret is the smaller outlet inside the "T" joint. Now I'm thinking on how to make more bubbles out of it.

I appreciate your help.

Hi eveybody,

the water pressure will determine the venturi output.

did you guys cut a / with -> this way out
on the top pipe? adjust the depth it insert into the pipe below to get the max blows.

I was at the Sin koi show whole day, since 7am this morning - saw Hans on stage - but no chance to speak to him as I'm busy with the photo on the champ koi for tommorow seminar.

Please let me know John's website, I want to see his venturi too.

I saw Mr Hans's photo as a member of MKC Koi show commitee at their show bulletin, but no Mr. Khoo's. Do you have one ?

Hi Ridwan,

Have a chance of making the outlet smaller this morning. And yes it makes more smaller and intense bubbles. By the way, increasing water pressure will also increase the bubbles.

Hi Rahim,
Thanks for the information, I made mine with solid PVC and drilled for the nozzle. The problem is I didn't put the short PVC pipe at the outlet of the T joint so it didn't work at the firtst time.

I was also at the show,Hans show me who you are(Handsome young guy with a cap on).I try to say hi to you but youe are too busy at the koi seminar.As for me i will described my self as the Best Jumbo in show probably you will noticed me,i am the biggest guy in the show...

I'm terribly sorry for missing this posting.
Yes, I do remember the "jumbos" in the seminar especially at the left seats in front of the speakers.
I'll try to post some picture here for �spot the surfers� just for fun.

Have you thought of using a uPVC piping system instead? Apparently they're more resistant to corrosion.
