Hi Khoo, I realize this is an old issue and a major source of the problem appears to have vacated the premesis, but is there still some consideration of altering the system? I was not a member at the time it came up and had no idea what the methodology was until recently, but perhaps some of the considerations mentioned here already could be incorporated. Realizing that you have other duties and responsibilities, (real job, home, family... a life ), perhaps a small number of members whom you have grown to respect for their depth of knowlwdge, experience, maturity, and value of their posts, would be willing to get together online with you from time to time (monthly, quarterly) to review and reccommend members for elevation or reduction in status, with the final decision remaining with you. When I first came to the forum I immediately gravitated toward those members who had an obviously strong track record and technical knowledge of koi and water quality, but I am analytical by nature so research is part of my makeup. Other new members may not take that approach and accept bad advice from someone who means well but lacks the wisdom to know when to shut up. This could help to solve the problem of people running up numbers just to "move up the ladder" and at the same time add meaning and value to the titles as the members would know it means you have earned the respect of senior members. I know there are a number of members who don't post all that often, but when they do it is of such value that their true worth is not reflected by their "title". Anyway, it's just my two cents worth on the subject . Thanks again for the forum and all the help it has been to me. Larry
