Must get the pine needles out! Use a Wet Vac to remove. I know that a Vacuum sucks up water too fast and fills up real quick, a real pain when you just want to move the suction end to a new location to pick up more debris. One way to semi control the amount of suction is to get a plastic extension from Home Depot or your nearest Hardware store (since you don't want to ruin the original tube extension). Drill a 3/4" - 1' hole at the top (the end that plugs into your hose) and use this as your First extension. Use your thumb to control the amount of suction generated by covering the hole with your thumb. Note that if you do not cover the hole, it will suck in outside air from the hole and reduce the amount of water it's sucking in from the pond. This way, you can move the suction end in a new position in the pond without sucking in too much water, and without having to continually turn off the vacuum as you move the vacumming end to a new location. At least this will prolong the amount of times you have to emptly the water from the vacuum. Sure hope this makes sense! (LOL!) Best Regards Bran A Koi Pond is never FINISHED, it's always subject to improvement. Drives the Spouse Crazy!
