Connecting pipes Can't Post

I have a 4 tank DIY filter system in my pond connected with 1.25" pipes. However the flow from one tank to the other is not very good. I also recently got a more powerful pump to get a better flow.

So I now want to increase the pipe diameter from one tank to the other to maybe 3" or more.

I can't seem to find suitable tank connectors for these wide pipes. Anyone has any DIY suggestions ?

Hi Viper,

If I were you I'll use 4" pipe instead of 3". This will give much better flow. You can use floor waste inlet as connectors or something similar. The pic is just an example how to connect each tank/drumSmile

Always use 4" pipe between, and from, tanks and barrels. You can buy "Uniseals" from Aquatic Eco Systems (America) that work great. A bit difficult to install though. You cut a 3" hole for the 4" uniseal. Bevel the end of the pipe and apply a small amount of lubrication to the hole to allow the pipe to be pushed through the Uniseal.
Thanks, Dennis
