DIY salinity tester Can't Post

Hello,

I bought a resun hydrometer for salt water and converted it for .3% and .6% use in my koi pond.

I gently nudged the corners to open up without breaking the plastic. open it up to the point you can get the needle.

once you have the needle, drill a 3/16 hole in the counterweight, the white circular part in the middle. return the needle and superglue the plastic back up.


I got a liter of water and put in 3 grams of salt, did the test 5 times before I marked the .3% salinity level. (make sure you give the needle a good shake to remove all the micro bubbles sticking to it or else you won't get an accurate reading. return all the water back to your container and add 3 more grams of salt and you willl get your .6% mark.

its gonna cost you less than US$4.00
