Fibreglass tank paint	Can't Post

Hi there,

I have a grey fibreglass tank..would like to paint it black, can someone advise what is the correct type of paint to use and after painting, what needs to be done before putting the kois back in??

First, why would you want to paint it, is it leaking or you just want black colour Tongue

I'm not sure where you live Smile

but here in Sydney there's a pond sealer in different colours made by Bondall or Crommelin.

After painting, normally you flash your tank and fill it up again and leave it for at least 7 days before
introducing fish. IMHO Wink

thanks for the reply..i just wanted the colour..no leak..
i'm in s'pore..
i am hoping to know the correct type,brand,etc and wants to DIY..

Hi, use epoxy paint. It should consist of two part, the paint and hardener. Ensure that your fiberglass tank is clean and dry. Paint two coats of the epoxy, allow each coat to dry before topcoat. Let it dry for at least 48 hours. wash thoroughly with water. Finish! If you require more information on where to get, send me a message. I am in Singapore

John, My FT's "paint" is peeling. DO I have to scrap off the existing coat or can I paint over it. Thks
