Settling Tank Can't Post

Having rebuilding my small pond ... now have 2 ponds, one cascading to another, with a new DIY, K1 filter system, I find that instead of having built a great filter system, that my first pond is really a settling tank for the second pond (the larger pond)!!! Not sure wheather I should(and intend to in the near future anyway) increase the size of the filter or add ''planned'' Settling Tank!!!
My pond, total is about 2500 gals, first is about 400 gals . . . anyone have a ready made diagram of a setting tank??... and where to place it in the system... I.E., Settling Tank (ST), Pump(P), Filter(F) , Bioball tank(BB), Pond... which would be the best and what would a DIY ST look like?
How bout...A) ST,P,F,BB,P ....OR....B) P,ST,F,BB, P....
...OR.... C)???
Thanks,
Jimar1
