Hi there. pklow Ya, the Ogon is the biggest, friendliest, and greediest (for food) of the lot (~25 kois). She was among the 1st batch of kois I bought from the Taiwanese guy when she was only ~5''; now she measures ~20''; unbelievable growth rate as compared to others!! Have never been back there cos his price is fairly steep. Now, I source from a Mr. Lau in SP who imports directly from Taiwan. He contacts me whenever new batch arrives. I also bought some from Zen Koi at Tanjung Tokong. I don't think I can cramp any more into the pond for the time being... ChingChong The name of the Taiwanese farm is Tainichi. If you come from Cinta Sayang Club, turn left to Jade Garden restaurant and go straight until you come to a set of traffic lights, take a left turn and go straight again. The farm is on your right ~ 1-1.5 km from the lights. I got a OASE 'all-in-one' filtration system (rated to handle >x2 size of my pond) in a liner pond cos' it's much cheaper and space-saving. It turned out to be a BIG MISTAKE !!! 3nd month into its operation, the pond was plagued with string algae and the water was cloudy. I only had ~10 kois at that time (most of them were quite small). The installer emptied the water and cleaned the filters and brushed away all the algae on the liner. Within 2 weeks, the algae returned with a vengeance !!! I almost gave up...... then after reading countless enlightening advices of the Sifus here in this forum, I re-modified the filter and built myself a trickle tower, the algae problem magically disappeared over the next 4-6 weeks and the water has been crystal clear since then. GCSpyder Ya off course. TT has been a life-saver for me; clear water with no algae.......Recently through my foolishness, I had all my pre-existing kois exposed to serious infection by failing to quarantine 4 small new kois before introducing them to the pond. 2 larger kois were floating sideway. Started salt and antibiotic treatment and thank God, they all recovered... BTW, just installed a Velda pressurised filter last week to act as a pre-filter so I can backwash it daily and this morning a second TT to handle the extra load. Cheers.
