I have one on my website, its for a 5000 litre pond, and is home to 30 koi from 5cm to 45cm. It's right here: http://aquaman.0catch.com and is under http://aquaman.0catch.com/DIYTT.html . Well, I couldn't tell you, but I would figure less than $200 US perhaps??? For biomedia (the lava rocks) check out your local yellowpages for landscape suppliers, and either plastic manufacturers, garden centres, water tank makers, drum recyclers, the local restaurants??? for a big big barrel. I personally would obtain two, and use one as a settlement tank and the second as the trickle tower. You might want to spend some time inside a plumbing store or similar and look at the shower drain and / or barrel connections and head over to the hardware section for a holesaw and drill...which of course you can use on anything else in the future. Check out 'DIY bottom drains' online (not on my site) if you think the price of a dedicated bottom drain is too much.
