submersible lights Can't Post

I have seen the expensive lights on ebay and in the store for under the water. The thing is i need a lot of them. I was trying to think of a way to make them myself and here's what i have come up with so far. If you take a PVC coupling it has a ridge in the middle, i cut a piece of plexiglass to fit in nice and tight and sealed it with silicone. that part works fine. Then i have a smalle piece of pvc going into the coupling and and end cap on the other side so its nice and small and really just looks like an end cap right against the coupling. only problem is getting the electric through the pvc and keeping it waterproof, i would love to know what that stuff is that they use on submerisble pumps and underwater lights. If i knew what that was, I could have the wire snaked through and then fill the end cap with whatever that stuff is to make a nice hard waterproof seal. Silicone absolutly does not work, its too soft. if anybody knows what kind of stuff i mean, or an idea of how to seal it please let me know. also... one other thing i am worried about is the heat... i'm thinking it will get pretty hot but won't be able to test it until i find a solution to the first problem....

oh yea and if anyone knows of an easier way of course i'm welcoming new ideas... thanks so much!

Hi Hunka,

You can use those cable they use for garden light as they are weather proof and they are rated 12V. Silicon will stick to almost any surface. The best way for the silicon to adhere to pvc is by sanding the pvc to give it a course surfaceSmile. I'm using pvc for my air line and I used silicon. I pressured tested it and found no leakWink You just have to give the silicon 24hrs to get the full strenght of it. Good luckSmile

rgds,
