wet and wet/dry filter in one filter Can't Post

Pls take a look at my drawing and comment...

basically, the 10" pipe is used for wet filtering(jap mat) and 6.5" wet/dry filtering( bio ball and lavarock and coral chips.) process... water enter from top of 10" pipe

Air bubbles will be produce using a big airstone at the 5mm hole...

1/3 cut 3" pipe will release some of the air, N2 and others(hopefully).

wat do u think of my design?

3f,

Can't see much from your drawings. I suggest you label your main draw title so that forum members can visualize what you want to show them.

If possible show more than 1 views if single view is not clear enough. Possible show a plan plus a side elevation or view. Not many ppl can visualize draws vary well.

BTW, what capacity is your filter. I mean the pond size that your filter can serve?

cheers

hi fff

is your filter system made from PVC pipes or metal?. I believe that i could use PVC pipes..
still need to take care of current situation before all kois die from nitrite poison or die from starvation... which ever comes first.......

appreciate if you could email me a photo - kwa168@yahoo.com

Since this is originally from so long ago I assume you have built a few by now. How well does it perform and what about cleaning the J-mat? It looks like that would be difficult.

No la... build one and stick with it for almost 2.5yrs.
Clean J matt? No need one la... Got a drain off plug below, just drain off the settlement lor once in a while.

In the period of 2.5yrs, I onli take out everything to check and clean once (sometime late last yr). The matt is not so dirty, just rinse and its done. Becos I got strong bubbles going thru the matt always.

Effect is so so onli, not as great as I first thought but definitely solve space prob. Maybe at the TT part, I should add holes.

Just to add:
its not that the filter dont do well but its the stock level and sizes of the fishes kept growing until the filter cannot function well enough. It has a low readings in Nitrate and Nitrite but not Zero which I hope it to be.
