Another newbie to koi fishes. Can't Post

Hey everyone just joined today. always been interested in fishes and i wanted to have an arowana but i have no space for the tank but that wont stop me from having a fish. i was just wondering for a beginner hobbyist what is the smallest tank i can keep? like thats good for about 4-5 baby kois but i would even down the quantity of kois if it will make the tank smaller..i dont want it like a gold fish bowl but then again i cant have it to big because my room is really small.i had a 36gal tank and it was already big in my room. like i said i cant afford the space for a big tank im just looking for something small.im also wondering what do you keep in your tanks like any type of rocks or sand or any plants? im still in the process of learning more about kois but please feel free to leave information about them. Another thing..are any kois illegal? because here in the U.S. i wanted a red or gold arowana but found out it was illegal and was wondering if any koi fishes are illegal or hard to find in the u.s. or you can find any type? thank you very much.have a nice day.
Smile

Re: [Phanizzle] Another newbie to koi fishes. [In reply to] Can't Post

Hmm I'm currently keeping 3 4-5 inch koi in a 20 gallon tank with just 2 small artificial plants and a small rock I collected at the beach. I'd say it's sufficient for me now since the fish don't hit the walls when they dart. I think your 36 gallon is plenty for the koi. Maybe the 30 gallon will save you some space. I usually try to limit the amount of artifacts I have in the tank to allow more space for swimming. Are any koi illegal? No. All koi are legal. That is unless it produces nitroglycerin in it's waste. :-)
