Hi cykoed, There are conflicting reports on pleco but mine has been co-existing with my koi without any incident the past 3 years. The pair of them are about 2 feet now whereas my koi range from 75cm to less than 40cm. None of my koi has any bite marks or signs of injuries from the pleco... touch wood . If you have yet to introduce pleco into your pond, do consider even if they do not attack your koi, their rough skin and spiky fins may inevitably cause minor damage to the koi. However, they do a wonderful job of cleaning the algae carpet on the pond wall . Cheers, Dennis
