Can anyone help me id these 2 fish? Can't Post

Hi,
I am new to this site. I have a small dilemma. I bought a few pond plants about 3 months ago (in june). A few days after the plants were placed in my pond, i saw 2 fish. They were VERY small..barely an inch. They were brown. Now it is 3 months later and they are about 3-4 inches long. One turned tangerine-orange and the other is a chocolatey brown on top and orange tinged beige below. I live in New Jersey and it is starting to get COLDER. I would like to take them in. I do not know what type of fish they are. i do not know if bringing them in will kill them or help them. I have tried included a few pics, but it is not working for some reason. i can probably email the pics to someone if they want to see them.
thanks to anyone who can ID them.

thanks

Donna

Hi Mark,

I am having difficulty adjusting the size of photos to fit on this forum. I will try. Thanks.

I am having a difficult time trying to download photos to this site.
I am going to assume they are goldfish. I hope they are because I was told on a tropical fish forum that if they are goldfish they should remain in the pond overwinter.

How did they get into the pond plants in the first place??

No, we didn't have anything in the pond. We just built it ourselvesin June. We went to a local nursery and brought home a small water palm and a lily. 2 days later we saw 2 small fish. They were VERY small, I remember I could barely see them at first. The pond plants at the nursery were in a large plastic tub of water. But i do not remember seeing fish in the water. I am assuming they were there and I didn't see them and brought home some eggs/small fish in the plants...but why would nursery have baby goldfish their in the first place?
