Can i keep koi in 300 gallon water tank ?? Can't Post
  Recently i just got a black 300 gallon water tank(a round one) from a friend. Im just wondering if it is big enough to keep a few koi. I heard that u need at least 1000 gallon water tank to keep koi, is it true ? If yes, how many can i keep inside there ? thank you.

Long time didn't hear from you. How's you fish. The last you talk about acquiring some good koi. Have you?

300 gal tank. That's pretty big for most hobbyists in Singapore(that's my opinion). Land in Singapore are very very costly. Its a luxury for koi to live in a 300 gal !!!!

I will however be interested to know the max. no. of koi I can keep in a 300 gal tank. ... :-) oops! what about the size or sizes of each koi and max. load the filter system can manage.

Hi Seabass,

In my initial year of keeping koi, I kept 10 4" koi in an 200 gallon koi tank and these koi managed to grow to about 14" long after several months. so if your tank filter is good enough, you can still keep quite a lot of koi if theie size is not too big. However, please bear in mind that koi grow very fast in hot weather condition and you will have to reduce the number of koi with passing time. So beware !

  Thanks guys for ur reply. Right now im not keeping any koi yet(I'm rearing discus fish now) but i intend to. I just accquired the 300 gallon tank from a friend and im scouting for a reliable n reasonable priced filter.
