Koi Not Growing in Glass Tank Can't Post

Hello all

I kept a few 4-6" koi in a glass tank for about 10 months or so. Althought their diet is healthy, they never seem to grow much at all. I fed them once a day with pellets from a local koi farm. It's from nippon koi farm (4-in-1 Nippon) for those who are located in singapore.

I was wondering if the koi are not growing anymore because they are stunned because of space contrain (in a glass tank unlike ponds) or feeding is not enough?

1. heat the tank to 75-78 F
2. increase oxygen
3. increase/add/maximize filtration
4. feed up to 3-4 times a day(but make sure your filters are mature enough to handle the waste)

Keep in mind that koi need a large amount of space in order to grow, so in a tank their growth is stunted. They will grow in a tank, but the growth will be rather slow compared to keeping them in ponds with 1000 gal +. Growth also depends on space and stocking levels.

Hello,

Koi growth depends on their Genes, Space, Oxygen level, Temperature and feeding.

Koi grows fastest at a "Mud Pond" because they eat natural food resources when they want and when they dont.

Koi grows slower on a "Fish Pond" (built by concrete) than "mudpond" depends on oxygen level and size of pond (no natural foods).

Koi isnt fit to be in a "Aquarium Tank", other than if you just want it for display.
