Noticed from today's newspaper that nippon koi farm is shipping some new harvest from Japan.
The details of the ad is as below:
NEW SHIPMENT. SEASON'S harvest fr. top Japanese breeders. High quality Jumbo Hisai from Sakai's famous parent koi - Beauty Rose, Tsukitsukei Rose, Kuchibeni Fujiko & Shobu. Also many Jumbos from Takigawa, Marudo, Ushizo, Tomezou & Ikenaga. Photo & Video avail for viewing at Nippon Koi Farm.
I have a few queries to make:
1. What is the different between Hisai and Tosai in representing age of koi?
2. Are Beauty Rose, Tsukitsukei Rose, Kuchibeni Fujiko & Shobu just nicknames for particular parent kois or are they new strains/breeds.
