hi, I was hoping some of you would share your experiences on this. There was a power failure last nite in my neighborhood area for a few minutes. When I move around close to my pond, my younger fish maybe 4-5 of them started dashing madly and jumping like crazy (I was not pointing my flash light at the pond, I supposed they were surpised by the flash light movement close to the pond). When the power was back on, I could see some of my younger fish were floating close to/ on the surface, slightly sideways and occationaly making mad dashes and jumping all over. Anyway, after a few beating on the side of the pond wall and pond sides, they all sank to the bottom and seemed to swim normally. My pond is 1.2-1.5m deep. They are fine now, a few lose scales, but nothing life threathening. So there were somewhat scared/surprised. My question is, Is this behaviour (showing rigid movements after a stressful event, mad dashes )life threathening to the fish? I dont think bowling them at this state is a good idea, because they seemed shocked/traumatized, catching them may push them over the limit? Any experiences that some of you may share? how can I calm them down? Thx a bunch. Kent
