stolen koi Can't Post

Hello

Stolen koi: not a nice subject.
But it seems to me steeling koi happens just about everywhere,UK,Germany,Belgium,Netherlands.
It happend to me 2 jears ago when a kohaku was stolen from my koi pond. this is the reason i decided to start a website called koi-gestolen.nl
The purpose of this site is to inform koi owners about occuring koi theft, If you become a victem of such a crime i offer you the possibylitie to place pictures with a discription of the stolen koi on the website for free.

A few minutes ago i googled on stolen koi and this search returned a lot of information about koi being stolen in the UK.

I would like to invite you all to take a look at my website and if you hear anything conserning the theft of koi please inform us.
The website can be viewed in 3 different languages; Dutsch, English, German (wil be added this week)

Hope to see and hear from you
With kind regards Jurgen For information on stolen koi take a look at www.koi-gestolen.nl report koi theft for free with pictures.

Hello, I have seen your MAILS selling your web site, well, I would recomend paying someone to make a better web site! And in fact it was a total waste of time to visit your site! There are no photos, ect! Maybe you should spend time looking at other sites!

Hello
First of all i am not sending any mails to sell my website.
Second: the reason that not every report has photos is symple: there are no photos sofar. The moment i receive them they wil be added.
third: What other site ? name one that still reports on stolen koi. and i think my site is good enough nice and easy to use.

Fourth: what seems to be your problem i am not forcing you to visit the site or maybe you are one of those people that take koi without asking the owner? and dont like it that this info is published on the internet.

If you think the information is worth having a look do so if not just Dont visit
By the way do you have a website you can call yours and build yourself

Hello, sorry if I sound harsh, I think your idea is great! We do not need people stealing pets ( koi) this is a very pathetic act to steal a koi. I am a breeder, so this is against my moral beliefs. And after reading what you wrote, I will say you are right! SORRY! I would hope your site works out, but photos are a very important part of your site. Also I would suggest putting some info on your site to help prevent theft!! Maybe technical advice or other methods that make it harder for people to steal koi! I have dogs, lights , camara fencing, ect. And I have not had a problem yet, but it is always a big concern for me!
Thank you
Jim

Hi ayranjim

Now thats sounds a lot more friendly, I completely agree with you pictures of the stolen koi are a very important part.
But it seems not every koi owner takes pictures of their koi on a regular bases or they just are not provided to the local police, i already contacted the police in Denny and lutterworth and asked them for there help in getting some pictures of the stolen koi but sofar no responce.

on info to prevent theft: there is a Tips page on the website and when you follow the link cam surveillance you will find some info on camera security.
I could fill an entire page with technical advise but everyone has to decide for themselfs what they want and what they can spend on these kind of systems. And there is a lot to buy in a lot of different security measures. I think the best Tip is to contact a local dealer that sells these systems for more information.
I believe the tips can lead them in a good direction. Please take a look at my cam surveillance My pond is in my front garden right next to the streetLaugh

I know my English is not the best but i am trying to make this website work i think it is a petty that a site like PondWatch.UK seems to be no longer updated.
I do however also know that it takes a lot of work to keep track and update the website

Expensive kois come with pictures and certificates, so it will be good for owners to submit photos together with their report so those of us who see them, say in a Koi Show or at a dealer, can raise the alarm.

Even if the kois are not expensive, it may be a good idea for owners to keep photos especially if koi theft is rampant in their area. If there are photos, it is easier to help prove the koi is theirs.

This website is a good idea -- and will help to discourage theft and trading in stolen kois.

Cheers,
Jeff

Hello, I would also like to mention that it is probabily other koi keepers who are behind the theft, as it is not easy nor fast to catch a koi and then transport this koi to another pond, so this tells us that these same people are mixed in with the good people. And these people also buy food and meds ect for their pond and koi, so it is not very hard to track a person down!
In my case, I do not use patio lights at night near my ponds, this is one way to make it harder for someone to steal my koi, I think if they cant see the koi this is better! Dogs also are a help.

Yesterday i recieved this answer from the Leicestershire Constabulary

Thank you for your query into the crime that was reported in may in relation to the Koi Carp that were stolen from a fish pond in Lutterworth.
In reply there are no photographs available of the fish that were taken for you to put on your web site, however we do really appreciate your interest and offer for help in this matter.

Many Thanks
