Hello, my name is Roger, 17 years old and I'm very new in breeding koi's..

I just bought 11 small carps about 3 inches the size, most of them(about 6) got eaten by an African catfish and a crocodile fish. Stupid of me to put them right in the pond. I had my best carp(red head+silver mid section+orange tail) eaten!! :(. I should have reared it in an aquarium until it's big enough to release into my pond which my dad takes care of. Is there anyone out these who's willing to give me some fry carps(non coloured yet) for me to rear? I want to keep them in my aquarium until it's big enough to put into my big pond.. I live in Wangsa Maju vicinity.

I'm quite new to carp breeding topic to. I got a question to ask, is the colours of the baby craps determined by the adult male and female carp which did spawned? What if red + silver carp mates, can they produce multi-coloured red+black+silver fry's? I mean the colours which isn't inherited by the parents..

Any replies are very much appreciated. Thanks!

Well he is asking for fish just like almost everyone else in this section so it somewhat fits

Didn't you just get 7 new koi? (as noted in the Koi appreciation page).

You can always obtain older koi and breed them to get fries as well.

try your local aquarium shop. I paid only One Ringgit for seven koi/ carp fry just last week at Damansara Uptown area.
