Hi all,

Please comment on these 3 showas ... which one would you pick first, second and last.
Just curious about my own judgement. Thanks

From the pictures, I think they are all Sanke. My conclusion is from the strip on both fin which are strip shape instead of motoguro like in showa.

More over, all of them have very high possibility to be male. The rationals are as follow:
1. The color is very intensity which normally male has.
2. The pactorial fins are big.
3. Body shape are all slim.
4. The sumi patch looks like in Sanke variety. Showa sumi normall has bigger patch. Also, sumi in Tosai showa (I guess they are all tosai) is not like this.

My straight forward comment.

Cheers,

Sugureta, if I have to choose, my pick is between A or C, then I would pick A. And as bro Tao said, these all three seem to be sanke, not showa.

So they are all sanke ... I thought the intense black marking all over the body would make them showa. (except A - i once guessed that it was a sanke)
Need to learn more from the koi lovers. =)
Thanks All.

If I have no choice to buy 1 of these 3, I pick C. From my opinion, C has overall best incl. body, skin and pattern. But I won't buy all because they are all same style.

For years, I love to buy different style of tosai koi (1 yr old koi) and study their development.

What I remember, I had one close to these 3.

Actually, I don't like this kind of sumi which have dark patch during tosai period.

Normally, among all three of Gosanke (kohaku, Showa and Sanke), Sanke is the most difficult variety to select especially during Tosai from my point of view. Kohaku is the easiest.
