Fat on the stomach Can't Post

Hi Guys,
I have a kojaku who has fat stomach. I have habit of feeding my koi as much as they can eat. The rest of koi have even body shape but this kojaku carries a stomach like pregnant.

Am I right to say good koi should have even built even if they eat alot?

Hi Paul,
Probably your kujaku stopped growing in term of length and its stomach start to expand. Are you feeding Wheat Germ most of the time? Wheat Germ will also cause the belly part to grow bigger due to high amount of carbohidrate.I might be wrong in some ways but this is just an opinion.

Hi, yup, alot depends on the bloodline too and the amount of exercise the koi is getting. Smile

Hi Paul
Fat belly can be that the koi are lacking certain type of vit. and resutling in an imbnalance of Amonio Acid. It can also be that koi is suffering of fatty liver and/or ovarian cancer(maybe not so serious). Try mixing a few types of food together and see if there are improvment over 3 months. Honestly, I doubt it will ever return to its nice body shape again - keep your fingers crossed.
