I got one Nisai in November as well.



She is now in the mud pond at Hoshikin. Until today, I hvn't seen her. Just only her photo.

Good Choice !! This Kohaku you bought certainly has the signature Beni of Hoshikin , including the bodyline . Great pattern . Strongly suggest you leave the red dot above the right eye alone . This might turn out to be a distinguish Kohaku bcos of the eye dot above the eye .

Heard currently there's a lot of restriction of Koi import from Japan back to Thailand . We hope the Thai fishery dept can relax the rulings alittle this year end to enable most of the hobbyists fishes to return to Thailand .

Thanks for your comment. I have seen your koi on these forum and impress the quality. I hope that she will turn ok after harvest this year. I will be around 4th week of Oct to see her. Actually, this koi was recommended by Mr.Thepsit. He bought around 20-30 pcs and let me select one picece (from photo) last november when we visited Niiagata. There are 4-5 pcs left in the mud pond. The rest were brought back and yes it was the first time I saw Hoshikin Kohaku. I am very impress with the white especially the skin quality.

In Thailand, we can still import koi in to the country. But the handling, yes, it is taken long about 1 month to quarantine the koi before release by Fishery Department. Not to bad.

Is the beni really this red or orangey but photoshopped? I have one hoshikin kohaku. The beni was really dense & deep red. But after few months in my pond its begining turning orange . But growth rate excellent. About 12cms in 4 months

I agree with you. The photo turned her more reddish than reality. I saw hoshikin kohaku at the beginning of this year. They were orangie.
