Is there a homemade koi food recipy Can't Post
Hi. I'm new to this hobby and currently doin up my pond 4 x 10 x 4 ft deep and wish to get some good quality kohako or showa sanke. Can anyone tell me where in town (KL) can i go to buy this beautiful fish?

I've tried using squid, kerang, prawns blend it with wheat bread and feed it to my koi. Believe it or not, they just love it.

Would appreciate if anyone could help me on this matter above?

That's my guy. I just love to experiment with food to my Kois. Basically, kois eats anything that is edible, yes trust me. I have feed my kois with 'hei bee', boil barley, green pea, prawn paste (i blend fresh prawn with a little flour - but my wife just can't stand the smell) and you know what, they just go 'ga-ga'. I think Dennis kwek feed his kois with papaya and oranges, you see how crazy we are. I do it because i want variatiion of food for my kois and i just love to see how they react to this esp the paste that i make. Makes the hobby more enjoyable.

Yup, kois eat anything that is humanly edible. I have given my beloved kois papaya, oranges, silkworm cocoons, birds worms and white bread. They simply love all of them. I am currently feeding them as a snack treat, dried silkworms cocoon. So far happy with the results as the kois colours seem to give a sheen.

Hi Tony & Dennis,

Have you ever notice your kois gaining weight beside feeding them with wheatgerm pellets?

If you ask me whether my kois gain weight eating those stuff mentioned above? Honestly, i don't really know for i feed them as a treat rather than staple food. However, kois will grow well even on normal pellet food like Hikari Economy, dpending on the kois itself.
