I think none of us want to see all our koi dealers disappear from the scene and all that is left would be us chatting on the web with a few people going to Japan and buy directly occasionally.

I think the air-freight cost of the koi would exceed $50 and the mudpond cost of the koi for a month is about that too. If you are keen on the kois, do call Jacky with your offer, albeit your extremely lean offer - it is still an offer. Otherwise, perhaps, please refrain from making offers over the public forum as Jacky did not post his listing under the buy-sell section. Perhaps, you would just like to comment on the fishes.... and that's OK too but once you offer that level of pricing, you are almost de-valuing the fishes. Granted that it is hard to put an absolute value on a fish... or a pet, but when the cost is below the temporary upkeep of the koi or the air-transport, it is almost saying that these fishes are not worth the effort for freight out of Japan... and it is by itself, a clear and loud comment on the quality accorded to these fishes.

So, I wouldn't reject your offer as I am not Jacky... but if I were him, I would be telling you to stare hard at your email address!!!. Aptly so.

no offence, i tend to agree with samantha, we could probably get it for USD50 in US based on picture and ignoring the birth cert....of course exclude freight cost...maybe we are not experts but again beauty is the eyes of beholder. Just like in koi shows, often many hobbyist who have their koi for the competition ended up dissapointed though in their eyes theirs are the best of the lot...it doesnt take USD14 K to make a koi to such show. I can find a USD50 and groom it for the show with much surprise. I have friends who had local koi but won some prices in shows but of course didnt reveal as such so that not to dissapoint those who paid tens of thousand or perhaps hundreds of thousand, sad to say but its true...on jumbo, rest assured local koi can be jumbo and the same friend of mine won the matured champion measured at 90 cm.

again, no offence intended, but to your surprise even the pros, many can be deceived of thinking its an expensive tategoi but in reality otherwise but often just dont want to reveal to anticipate dissapointment....

Jacky, stop liao.... Cannot tahan. Everytime see.... drooling... This hobby is getting more damaging financially than drugs mannn...

For a change, tell us about Migita - I know they are quite a new breeder... and what bloodline are they using for their parent stocks? Tell us more about the farm, the bloodline, etc.... How big are the mother ?

Aiya, cannot tahan lah... What size are the two sankes you show here... I will call or PM you and ask the price separately. Either I continue to drool (cannot afford the fish) or I buy the fish and take a long time to recuperate from the damage... Both sides of the equation, I die. Life is not fair.

Hi Guys

Migita is a new breeder. Migita-san was formerly working in sakai fish farm for 15years. His dream is to be a koi breeder himself. He started Migita koi farm last year.

Most of his parent kois are from sakai and momotaro. All his parent kois are over 80bu.

Migita had built his reputation mostly on showa and sanke.

I will post more of my collections for you all to drool. Smile Smile

Please feel free to comments.

Hi Jack,

Looking at the $14,000.00 Koi, I believe the Subo-Sumi, tail-tube, marutan, Kohaku pattern, thinkness of sumi and guaranteed female give rise to such a price tag.

Correct me if I am wrong, Jack.

Cheers....

Re: [jackyolk] Migita Jumbo Tosai [ grow event at Migita mud pond ] [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi all,

Those koi that Jacky put up for comment can only be mine when I dream although I would dare to dream that they are worth a few tenths of the dollar be it US or Singapore. But that is dream. Such high quality koi will never be shipped with the general koi we purchase at low price. The Japan farmers know their stuff and that is why Japanese koi always command a much higher price that others.

Back to the comment, I like the Migita 2years old female Sanke (the last one) the most for it high quality skin with a strong sumi on the shoulder. That make it looks so strong compare to the 2nd last one. The sumi is very high quality, shinning and thick even you can tell from the picture.

Ok, I will go back to my dream to enjoy this koi in my tank.

Cheers and remember to support my donation drive.

Regards
