Hi Larzl,

Thanks for your detail info & explanation.
I will check out the web page.
Yes, my son VJ is cut out to do critical surgery like this.
There is always the risk factor-curing will not be a problem but if it is done
wrongly the eye will bulge out .
I have stopped the colour food - lets see whether it pulls back.

Hi Larzl, Koinuts,Alan & all koi kichis,

Alan,
Sorry I forgot to check out on your Showa. How is it now?

Koinuts,
How is your Eagle bloodline Kohaku? Can your share with us ?

The last time I posted my kohaku it was 70 to 72cm & was stagnant there.
I infact thought of selling it. After my recent dividing of myM pond ,this koi
'fireband' has hit 75cm & putting on bulk.
The other kuchu beni kohaku is with the seller for sale.Encouraged with this
development, I am thinking of taking it back to BULK UP as well.
The other two males I disposed off.

No touching up!

Click here for a video disaply.

The shiroji is yellowish in the video due to colour food(IMHO ).

The beni looks outstanding and no doubt the shiroji will clean up quickly with a little color free food.
There is only one area of concern that I cannot be certain of as the maruten extending into the gill plate may be distorting my perception. Is there and injury to the left gill plate? At certain angles it looks like it may be curled under a bit. I trust your hands on view more than my viewing of a picture.

Hi Larzl,

Thanks for your comments.

Gills:
Since a tosai the gills seems to be huge & opening wide. However there is no injury.
We did a lit surgery to remove the gill edges. After which it is curling inwards.
Kodama says big gills during tosai stage is sign of jumbo koi.I am still waiting to confirm this.

Hi koinutx,
Please do give us a macro shot when you are free.

Hi Larry,
Thanks. As the koi is putting on bulk the huge opening gills
looks better.
