Need help to 'upgrade' my koi collection Can't Post

Hi,

I bought a house which came with a sizeable koi pond, with about 20 new fish courtesy of the previous owner. After a year's experience maintaining the water, I'm now ready to get some better koi! The 'inherited' ones...well they not very good looking fish - some have fat bums, so look comical rather than good!

I've found that it's incredibly hard to pick up the knowledge required to select and buy decent koi at decent prices. Note that I'm NOT after the show quality kois, and will be happy with a good variety of types which will look good and grow to a nice full size. Going to the koi shops, I feel that I'm at their whim and fancy, and struggle with getting a good feel on what's decent, and at a good and affordable price.

So I would love to have some good common sense experienced person to help me out on some koi shopping. Again, I'm not after the show quality ones, but just good quality and affordable prices. Hoping that this appeal gets some response, and I'd be more than happy pick you up for a some shopping :)
  • If you leave your name/number on this thread, or PM it to me, I'll call you and see what we can work out.
  • Alternatively, some pointers on where to go, who to look for, what koi to look for, and how much to pay, would also be great!

Cheers!
