Hi koinutx, I wouldn't worry about the slow growth rate at all becos' the body bone structure indicate a future large koi, imho. More importantly, this koi power is in the dynamic Hi plate extending from the face to the back of the body. The finishing of the Hi on the head is good and the Hi wrapping down thickly and deeply to the left and right from the back to the belly completes the beauty of this koi. If the smaller Hi located on the tail tube becomes thick to form a distinguished 'Odome' , it will greatly enhanced and balanced the Hi pattern on the first half of the koi. Hopefully, the Hi on the tail end will receded and leave some required Shiroji which is desirable. It will be interesting to observe how the Hi pattern will change in this kohaku when the body gains volume. The current long and thin body will become rounder and much thicker when the koi put on more volume and girth. The gain in weight will expand the Shiroji in the koi and normally young koi which have more Hi and less Shiroji would become more dynamic and beautiful than one's that start off with more Shiroji. Please keep us posted on the changes on the Hi development as against the exposing Shiroji when the koi mature. BTW, starting today, I will be away on holiday for 1 week and happy koi keeping. Best Regards, Thiam Hwa
