Hi David,

Great looking pair you got here. Very good body on both. Big Head. Big Mouth. Thick Tail-tube (especially on the kohaku). Exceptional Shiroji. What more can you ask for.Smile

Mind sharing from which oyagois these pieces are....

Regards

Sly

Hi Keemer SmileSmile

The Kohaku is of Dancing queen , while the Sanke is of Beauty Rose . Beauty Rose bllodline has got it's credential the last few years , but not so much on Dancing queen . Keeping finger cross on new bloodlines .SlySly

Bro DavidLaugh,

I smiled a bit when you said Dancing Queen. WinkCoolSmile

What ever names would the breeders be coming up next. Britney Spears? Pavarotti? Madonna?WinkLaughSly

I remembered a Dynamite Ochiba Kohaku being posted somewhere in the forum. I think the mother could have been from a BIG Ochiba. Any idea how these kohakus would perform? Is it normal to be pairing gosankes w/ non gosankes in order to perhaps achieve better bodies, beni/sumi and growth potential...

Smile

Hello sifu David,

These 2 are awesome!Sly You keep me dreaming by looking at these babies.SlySly Imagine that these two are swimming in a spotless and rich oxygenated water. Looking at them swimming will bring a lot of enjoyment and happiness, specially during the current economic turmoil. SlySly

Kohaku: great body line (I believe it's still not at its best shape yet), nice shiroji, deep beni. Kiwa and sashi are great. Very balanced pattern. Space between hi plates are equally placed. Very attractive.
Sanke: Just awesome, don't know what else to say. Sly As Kemeer mentioned, its tailtub is not as great as the kohaku's.

My comments are just a beginner's comments. Please point out what I missed, so I can enjoy them more while appreciating them.Wink
Thanks for sharing with us!Wink

Cheers,
Victor

Re: [kemeer] Sakai Sanke and Kohaku 2008 [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi Brother Keemer SlySly,

During the Sakai Oct Auction 08 , indeed there was a Dynamite Ochiba Kohaku put out ... and it went off for a bomb ..SlySly . The Ochiba used for this spawn was way above a meter . Only setback using the ochiba and gonsake pairing is the turnout result which leans more to ochiba / Chagoi with little turnout on Gonsanke or Kohaku in this case SlySly. Might not turn out feasible for Sakai . Size wise ?? Probably have to wait another 2 or 3 more years to see the outcome .SlySly

Hi Dennis SlySly

The Dancing Queen Kohaku is a nisai , while the Beauty Rose is a young sansai . I have not seen these 2 Kois yet ... only booked them through photos provided .SlySly Probably will try to keep you guys posted on this fish development in Sakai next year .

Brother Handy ...SlySly

No need to break free lah .... SlySly These 2 not in my pond yet this year ...SlySly Next year when they're back , probably you can swim with them if you want .
Test result came back from Germany on my water parameter ... fit for swimming now !!!! ( ... but at your own risk !!!SlySly )

Hi Victor SlySly

These 2 kois are young and possess the traits of many past Champions . Probably will send the Sanke for All Japan in January 2009 in Tokyo .
Keep in touch Victor .SlySly

Cheers
David

Uncle David,

I'm afraid if I want to jump to your pond, I have to pass some tests first on Mount E. to make sure I'm not contaminated by any residue SlySlySly
My pond has been empty for about 2 weeks for upgrading the system. Meanwhile, I'm waiting foreign currency that go crazy and wildly to be stable before buying another equipment which are already on my list.

Cheers,
Handy

Brother Handy SmileSmile

Like many , I have to agree with you that foreign currencies , especially the Yen has gone up very high , making bidding and buying of Kois from Japan now very painful . With the economic woes globally , we are slowing very much here . Kois gets more and more expensive the last few years . I think it's about time , we have to try to tame the prices down as well , or at least hold our horses for a while SlySly.

You are always welcome to jump into my pond anytime Brother Handy ..Sly no need to clean yourself first ..!!SlySly
Hope you can kick-start your pond soonest .

Cheers
David

Hi Brother Handy SmileSmile

Many many thanks for the wonderful update and news on this newly crowned Grand Champion ,SmileSmile appreciated your good effort in keeping all of us updated on the All Indonesia Koi Show 2008 .
This Kohaku was indeed deemed as a "already downhill" Kohaku at 9 yrs old , but was rejuvenated and brought back her youthful look through "grooming" and care , She looks exactly the same Champion when she won the Rinyukai Grand Champion in 2005 , much to the surprise of most of the Japanese Breeders who outright voted her as the Grand Champion when they noticed the big change from her last Koi Show appeareance during the 1st Asia Koi Show . Indeed she's still a very competitive Kohaku for the next few years if the new keeper can maintain her lustre and shine for the next few years . She put on in length as well as body girth the last 6 months , much to the surprise of many who thought this Kohaku has finished her competitive days in Koi Show .
Would wish to explain more about this fish and her winning , but unfortunately , I have to fly to KL shortly to attend to some other matters. Dun think I can get hold of a computer to continue the discussion for the next few days .

many thanks once again Brother Handy for the great effort .SlySly

Cheers

Hi David,

No worries, you can reply to this when you're back from your Malaysia trip. Just wondering what were her respective sizes when she won the 2005 Rinyukai GC, during the Asia Cup in March this year and during this just-concluded Indonesian Show? Just a point of curiosity, as I think her size was not as important as the way you managed to maintain and rejuvenate the shine and lustre of a koi that many would consider relatively old.

Heartiest congrats on a super job doneSlySlySly and have a good business trip.

Cheers,
Paul
