i'm not sure why 14500 US$? the lack of white on the head and the quality of red do not increase the value of the koi that much, the black is not real solid, sure as all saleman said, it will emerge and the fish will be sooo beautifull. sure that is the future, but how about now, do you like to watch a not so beautifull koi in your pond in couple more years? patient is a virtue, not in enjoying, we want to enjoy the fish now, not next year.

Hi Jacky,
Sumi & hi not up to the mark now. Hi to heavy on the head. The only good thing is the body.
If sumi do not appear on the head the purchaser's money will be burnt.
I dare not comment on the future without an idea of the parent koi.
How was the weekend with Diainichi brothers ?Thanks for the invitation-hope you all had a good time?
Hkk

Hi Mohan,

I'll take a different view on the hi.

I though this type of hi-colour for Showa is a very good. (if it is on kohaku, then probably nothing excited) and it looked very thick.

For the sumi, I'll agreed with you, that from the pic, not solid indication yet....but probably not a major concern since it's a Dainichi showa.

Smile

Hi Koinutx
If you look at Kodama's book' kokugyo ' he talks about DEEP RED THICK HI when he describes showa.

By the way , where did you obtained the info- I am interested in learning.

In this connection ,I would like to state that my 75 cm Dainachi showa only managed a 2nd prize at the recent Malaysia Show. Inter alia, the hi was not bright as before-one of the recently appointed Malaysian judges had the same opinion about the hi plate..
It obtained a 1st prize at the 65cm category at the SPKC Young Koi show.. At that time the hi was very bright & further more the competition was intense.. At the recent Malaysia Show ,the competition was not so severe & yet it did not do well.
IMHO bright thick hi coupled with lacquer like sumi is vital for a top class showa. The classic example is Katosan's Inasuma Showa .The other Grand Champion Showas tell the same story-Maruyama Showa & Sakura.
Hi Snowy,
I am sure you do not want me to post the pixs of these infamous showas-IT MUST BE ENGRAVED IN THE MIRROW OF ANY
KOI KICHIS' HEART.
Hkk
Mohan. Cool

among all this one (the last one) worth the wait, if you want to wait. it has an even distribution of 3 color throughout the body, at 20" the black will not disappear, it will darken with time along with the red. however, it not something that you should jump on it, thank, Jackyolk for the entertainment that you give to us

Hello Mohantaro San,

Thought I would meet you at JK Koi centre but you didn't turn up. Saw your INAZUMA Kohaku and my recent purchase, Marutan Sanke, from Asia Koi Show in the same pond.
I have also seen one offspring of Katosan's Inazuma Showa belong to one hobbyist name Andrew but he refused to sell his prized possession. Again, are you selling your Inazuma Kohaku? It is Mohataro San Inazuma kohaku engraved in the centre of my heart, not the infamous Showa from Kato San.

Cheers...

Hi tan,
This is the 1st time I am hearing about Katosan's inasuma showa offspring-can you ( or Andrew) post a pix?
IS the Marutan sanke the one you bought from another bidder? pls post pixs as it takes shape.
When i was in S'pore ,I also ha a look at my koi & I was extremely pleased with the development.
Since it is engraved in both our hearts, I am afraid that it will get entangle in a LOVE TRIANGLE.
Hkk
Mohan. Cool
