Oops, Tigger is more orange than yellow. Trust me he is no food. Well at least to me.

PoopBear is very much yellow. Isn't Orenji refer to an orange color koi? Just want to confirm!

Thanks,

Yes, to ask AznDeath if we have the same type of koi.

I guest these two koi are not a typical koi. Hwever they are still unique. Well as least to me.

Orenji Ogon is a metallic orange single colour koi. Mild orange or deep orange would not make a difference.

Your Tiger, if with proper sumi pattern is called Hi Utsuri.

Your Fairy Koi or Butterfly Koi is a cull-off koi. Due to its long fins, it swims like a fairy or butterfly or angel. This Koi is for self appreciation only. NOT competition.

Hope you don't mind my harshed comment.

Hey Nick,

I know! I asked you at least twice about the koi you used as an icon. I finally get around posting my Tigger up to see if anyone may know what they are.

Thanks,

yea Im pretty sure it is Ginrin Yamabuki Ogon.
it's not orenji ogon because orenji is more of a strong Red.
the second one looks like a Hi utsuri, but not too sure.
the third one is a Platinum Ogon.
The One below it is a Ginrin Kohaku
The butterfly koi is a Platinum Ogon butterfly koi.

1 ochiba shigure 13"-14"
1 aka bekko 8"-9"
2 Matsunosuke kohaku.
1 9"-10" Shusui

Sorry, I don't bit around the bush. If you are looking for compliments only, plse specify. Then I will hold my tongue. No hypocrite.

Ist. if there is a black strip on the back body, then the koi can never be a Plaintinum Butterfly. Can you see the black strip?

2nd, a Yamabuki's colour will fade off if placed indoor. Want to know the truth, try it.

Hope I help you mend the hole in your pocket.

Tan,

First of all this thread is under "Koi Appreciation". Not competitionMad If you don't have any thing nice to say/comment except shoot someone please don't say it. It's not helping our members by doing so. Koi keepers around the globe DO NOT keep koi for competition purposes only. Koi keeping is a hobby and competition is another thing. I as a forum member am trying to help whatever or whenever I can. We get stupid questions or silly ones but maybe for us but not for them. I do too ask stupid questions. Every inch we gain in koi keeping is a treasureSmile.

My apology for being straight forward or harsh if you want to call it but that's the kind of feed back we getting from youUnsure

Sorry, but sometimes you have to taste your own medicine.

rgds,
Jon

PS: I'd rather build bridges instead of wallsSmile

then what class can i put the butterfly in. and who wanted to know the yamabukis color will fade off inside, all he wanted was CLASSIFICATIONS. Dont be so technical with people who dont care to hear technical crap.

I hope you will have someone to help mend the hole in your face after I am done with you.

Jusy leave people who dont like the competition part of koi hobby alone, we dont care for that part yet.

but thanks for your help tan

Thanks LilHelper!

I know that PoopBear is a GrinRin something Ogon. Now, I know for sure that he is a Ginrin Yamabuki Ogon. I have seen many Yamabuki but not Ginrin Yamabuki.
I'm happy that Tigger can be call Hi Utsuri even if it is maybe a "dirty" one. The fin on Angle is long so I think it can be a butterfly koi but can it really be a Platinum Ogon even with that blue stripe? Just want to confirm.

Tigger and Angle are my two favorite koi because they are the first two koi I purchased. The others are after a little more knowledge about koi.

I too, think that bridges are nicer to look at then wall even if it is an ugly bridge. Tan, I'm not calling you an ugly bridge. so don't get the wrong idea.

Let get back to the subject of koi... after it is our favorite subject here.

Some may ask why do people bothers posting "dirty" koi and ask what they are. Will, I can tell you my simple minded answer to this is...

Knowledge and to show off the knowledge to other and the cycle continue...

To: JON and all on "What type of Koi am I?"

First and foremost, whether appreciation or competition is immaterial. What the poster asked is what type of koi am I?
Are you not asking for classification? If you are not asking, why post in the first place? Is a coward blowing hot and cold?

Though you are good in answering in other threads as well, the fact is, the best is often the enemy of the good. The best fish swim near the bottom.

Smoke doesn't come without fire; where there's smoke, there's fire, i.e. where there is criticism, there is defects. The criticism is just another side of the coin. In every coin, there must be two sides. I don't just shoot. I also give credit where credit is due, let alone a credit to a devil. If you show people only one side of the coin, you are hypocrite.

I fully aware every ass loves to hear himself bray rather than learn to profit at the folly of others. They prefer to count the chicken before they are hatched, learn to run before they walk and leap before they look. Bear in mind Zeal without knowledge is a runaway horse.

Sometimes, truth is stranger than fiction. Honesty is the best policy to me but not to people like you. I rather let the sleeping dog lie and let people like you all paddle your own canoe. Let see whether the horse can move or not with the cart before it.

I can lead a horse to water but I cannot make it drink because he who pays the piper calls the tune. A lame dog would not get help over a stile. It prefers to rather buy a pig in a poke because they do what the Romans do in Rome. They believe Rome was built in a day. The Romans told them. They don't believe knowledge is power.

Lastly, Birds of different feathers can't flock together even if there is a bridge, let alone a wall. So, if the cap fits me, I will wear it. Don't shoot with empty magazine.

Yes, he was asking for classification not an insult or degradation. What amount to insult or degradation? Is "awesome" amount to? Do you know what are freedom of expression + civil liberty + the terms and conditions of this forum? Smart Aleck. Variety is the spice of live.
If its something good how can you be against thatCrazy I myself and most of us are at the bottom. Didn't I said the kois are for self appreciation only. Perhaps the poster get paid from the dealer like you, Koi38, to dump cull into his pond. Yes, I can see that you are at my bottom.
.
All I'm saying is why do you have to degrade people.Unsure unless it makes you feel better. All your are saying are creating racial hatred. You, as a dealer, posing as a hobbyist attempting to lure people into buying more such lousy koi at their loss. You are too inhuman. Caveat Emptor. Let the buyer beware of you. The blind is leading the blind, both shall fall into the ditch. Oh No! Your bark is worse than your bite.
Aren't you doing the same???Crazy I'm learning, but definitely not from you, Koi 38. Why don't you put your real name? No gut to do so? Never too old to learn, never to late to turn. I can forgive you.
Clap clap clap. You're are so honest and believe in yourself you don't even know you're hurting someone else feelings. But then again thats you.
I you decide to post your fish photo, you are consenting to let people criticise. That's the meeting of the minds, ie consensus ad idem. you must have contemplated all these. Do you think the words appreciation meant compliments only, not criticism? Too Naive. Yep, knowledge is power but without friends around you there is no knowledgeUnimpressed. What's with the horse, piper, dog, pig and the Romans????
Knowledge come from friends like you is a disaster. So is better to come from book. Books and Friends should be few but good. You don't understand the rest, let be it. Afterall, you have no standard, right? Why don't understand? Are you saying you join to eat the food, but when its time to clean up the mess you're own your own
Again, you don't understand. What standanrd do you have to comment on the forum? That's right, stripes for stripes and spots for spots. An eye for an eye, A tooth for a tooth.

I'll make sure everyone is welcome if I'll have my own koi show including you coz for me enemy or not is always my friendSmile

Thanks for the last. Private pissing contests belong in private emails. The point of this post was originally to accurately "identify" the koi variety, not to "grade" their quality or air personal grievances against 3rd parties. I doubt most who have read this string have gained anything of value, but many have no doubt been turned off to this forum, which is a loss for everyone.
