Hi! O3layla (what a name ), I think it is a Yoitjiro (leather carp) - meaning 4 white. Karasugoi - means black crow. All black, bottom of chest can be orange or white. Orange more preferred by the Japanese judges. Hajiro - all black, except for the pectoral fins = white edges with motoguro. Hageshiro - all black with white on head & white edges on pectoral fins. Yoitjiro - 4 whites; on face, pectoral, caudal & dosal fins. Matsukawa-bake - a black/white koi that can reverse/ interchange its colors during summer & winter seasons. Sumi-nagashi - a greyish koi with sumi netting. Kumonryu - must be a leather carp. A black/white koi with wavy sumi resembling Nine Dragons. Kikokuryu - a newly introduced new variety = as above in pattern, but with metallic sheen as with Hikarimono type. Also comes not only in black/white - also bronze, brass, reddish bronze, greenish bronze.etc. * pls note; these varieties are very prone to changes especially fr. Japan's cool water to our tropical water. Many a times, a beautifully patterned Kumonryu becomes a black koi after few months of tropical temp. Take my advise - buy only after the koi has been in tropical water a few months. I should know - out of my seven koi tried - only one is left. All I gave away as karasugoi with few white patches. Dealers are going to hate me for this!!! Rdgs, Eric Lim
