The overall look of the Sanke is good, but the pec fins have been trimmed, and none too nicely. It makes them look square.
The inazuma has a nice looking lightning strike pattern. Can't tell much beyond that as the picture size is rather small, but it looks to be a likely male.
The most interesting one is the Showa. It is more specifically a "Suminagashi Tancho Showa". The black net pattern down the dorsal line is an Asagi trait that occasionally comes through on some fish in a black net rather than asagi blue. I have a few bekko with the suminagashi pattern as well. They can be rather difficult to hold well, so I wish you luck with it.

thx for replies.. for the sanke, how could u say that its been trimmed, as now, the fin looks alrite(pointy on the edge), does fins could grow again after trimmed..? n what's the use of trimming..?
for showa, some senior in my country call it gin kage tancho showa...., so, u also have bekko wid this kind of pattern...? as this is the 1st fish that have that kind of pattern that i ever saw, i thought its the only one in d world... :)

If you look closely at the Sanke pec fins they appear VERY square on the outer edge. Not natural, and quite likely some tears were trimmed off to make it look cleaner. It is fine as a pond fish, but it would be heavily demerited or possibly disqualified from a show if that was your purpose. Any "doctoring" of a Koi that is so easily detectable is viewed dimly by Koi judges.

The Showa of this type is easily confused with "kage" type, as they do have some similarities.
This is a Gin Tancho Sanke

This is a Kage Showa. The sumi looks like a dark gray cloud. Note that the sumi scales are not outlined in white.

This is a Kanoko Showa. Much of the beni pattern is single scales outlined in white.

The best pictures of Suminagashi I have are these, which aren't the best examples, but the do give an idea of they type of scales when they are more mature. the last picture is one of mine, which is young and still very immature suminagashi bekko.
The suminagashi pattern is black scale centers outlined in white.

Re: [koifishlover] my fishes [In reply to] Can't Post

I live in the USA. I have posted some of mine, but the most recent photos aren't very good. We were moving the fish from one pond to another and there was a lot of junk floating in the water. Most of them are just pets, with a few of modest show quality. The shows near me have the good fortune to attract some of the best fish in the US, which makes the competition tough, but the view is wonderfulCool
We'll be moving them again in a month or two, and will take fresh pictures then to post. At the moment we have 14 nissai and older, with about 3 dozen tosai we are growing out separately. I need to post some of the newer pictures of the tosai, so look for an old thread of mine to be updated shortly...
