This is a beautiful koi. Good body structure and definitely looks like a female. The sumi is evenly distributed from the current look of it. If the sumi plates develop further and get larger (with good shine for both the hi and sumi plates), this is definitely one potential winner in koi show. Hopefully the sumi would extend to the shoulder. Do you mind sharing with us the bloodline of this koi ?

cheers

Wah ! You acted real fast. Just saw in a post pertaining a 5 step Sanke highly recommended a couple of days ago and was thinking of visiting JK Koi during National Day to take a look. Never thought it was immediately snap up by somone so soon !

The moral of the story : When it comes to good fish, do not hesitate !

Hi choo,

thanks for your comment. when this koi arrive in May, there was only one small spot of sumi and now more sumi can be seen on the white (shiroji), is this call subo sumi sanke? i think she will have better chance of winning prize at nisai or sansai. i do not know the booldine, let me ask the farm owner ok.

Cheers...

Re: [j.j.] my latest collection [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi J.J.

Again, this Sanke has all the attributes of a future show koi. Although this Sanke has a very balance
Hi pattern from head to tail section, I find the development of the Sumi pattern more fascinating,
especially when the Sumi are arranged in good balance on the body to complement the Hi pattern.

I hope the Doh Sumi ( i.e. Sumi on the body section ) will enlarge in size to provides a better overall
balance to the rest of the Sumi located on the other areas. Secondly, if there are large Doh Sumi
in the body section area, it will also balance out the large Hi patches which are located on the
head and tail section. Point to note here is the appearance of Sumi in ' pairs ' which is quite unique.

Lastly, it is also desirable to have black streaks Sumi on the pectoral fins, dorsal or caudal fin
which will further makes the overall pattern even more stable.

Best Regards,
Thiam Hwa

Hi thaimhwa,
many thanks for your comment and good observation about this sanke. without you mentioning it i didnt notice there are three pairs of sumi on the body and maybe forth pair on the head area. i think more sumi will appear as she grow and hopefully on it's fins too.

Cheers...

Hi J.J,Smile

When I first saw the birth cert.of the koi at JK a few weeks ago, I thought it was a kohaku with a spot of sumi on the left flank. You were wise to snap up the deal as recently I saw more sumi appearing and looks like it is a tategoi with a future.

Congrats on your good purchase.TongueTongue

Cheers.

Hi Kelvin,

Looks like J.J beat you to it.

Hey dont worry there are still more beauties in JK's 90 ton pond to select although I understand from Jacky that most of them have been taken.

Not too late to go look for some nissai to participate in the next Young Koi Show. Wink

Good Luck & good hunting!!

Cheers.

Hi choo,

for this sanke, there is no booldline. i only know it's from Kondo farm but her mother is a very big sanke, meassure 86cm with great body volume. i hope she carry her mother's gene and be able to match her size in the future.

Cheers...

Hi J.J.

Another good koi for your koi collection!! i think you're having a great collection, keep it up J.J.! The 5 step sanke is superb! it has wide tail tube, proportion wide body structure, great hi, but it lacks a little bit of sumi at the head part but in general, its superb! =)

Cheers!

Hi inazuma_showa,

appreciate your great comment about this sanke, i agree with you that overall this sanke is near perfect if not for lack of sumi on it's shoulder but there are 2 hidden sumi on the shoulder which is not visible from the picture. so i hope the sumi will develop when she grow older.

Cheers...

Hi Koimann,

nice meeting you too but unfortunately i got to go off early, no chance to see your selection. Hope we can have more time for coffee and Koi talk in your next visit.

although the one you choose is from the same mother as mine but yours has got better bone structure and the head looks rounder, it's going to be a huge fish for a tosai at 51cm. the hi is very rich with shine and the shiroji is snow white with balance sumi over it's tail section, body and shoulder, i hope the spotted sumi on the shoulder will appear stronger when she grow bigger. wow this is a beautiful sanke to me.

happy koi keeping and look forward to meeting you again.

Cheers...
J.J.
