what kind of koi	Can't Post

I Just Bought a koi it is about 5in long it is very white with yellow marking on its body and it only has scales on the top and sides.

If it has scales along the top and scaled only down the lateral line then this type of scaltion is called hanna.

The white and yellow would make it into a hariwake or a yamabuki. Any chance of posting a picture, from that we would be able to define more clearly.
