All my fry are goldfish Can't Post

Unsure Hi guys, I just found out my fry are goldfish! ARG... I'm gonna take out those goldfish, but I love one of my shubakin, as it is truly exquisite coloration, but that's the female that bred, but she made regular old goldfish dangint! So, I'm gonna take in the goldfish and see if I can get some fish credit for them, or maybe give them to my sister for her pond, but I am gonna worn her they bred in mine, so they'll probably breed in hers, No offence, but I prefer koi fry to goldfish fry, as it doesn't seem worth it to do the work of a seperate rearing pond and whatnot for fry that are only worth maybe 10 cents a piece, maybe. DANGIT!!! stupid goldfish, well I learned my lesson not to mix koi and goldfish together, in my opinion. - pondgirl.

Hi, and thanks for your reply. I know their all goldfish babies, because they are all about 1-2 inches long, and have no barbels, none of them, and I also saw the shubakin goldfish I have trying to breed with another goldfish, but I also had a platnum ogon koi that was trying to get in the action too, so who knows, but I'm just gonna get rid of my goldfish so I don't have to keep guessing, plus I'm a little overstocked, now that my koi are all large now, and so are the goldfish, and then it makes it so I can get like one more longfin koi, maybe utsari or kohaku or maybe even sanke. I really like sanke, but they tend to not turn out great looking as adults, unless you have a champion offspring, which I can't afford. Thanks again for your reply, pondgirl.Smile

Re: [rickytanoto] All my fry are goldfish [In reply to] Can't Post

hi ricki, my main pond is around 2000 gal, and I have 1 platnum ogon 8inch, 1 kohaku 13 inch, 1 tancho, 12 ich, 1 orange ogon 13 inch, 1 yellow platnum ogon longfin 8 inch, and the rest are 4 goldfish reds, and longfin golfish. The babies that I noticed, that didn't get eaten, I scooped and put into a 12 foot round 3 foot deep kidie pool filled with water hyacenths. I think I was only able to save around 30 babies I'm guessing? Now, I'm givin my goldfish to my sister as she has a goldfish only pond, and doesn't mind them breeding. I don't have show quality koi, but thier pretty and my platnum white ogon has prospects, and so does the large kohaku, but that's about it. I bought them from local breeders. Thanks for the interest, pondgirl/alison

It is possible you have goldfish fry since koi and goldfish live together in one pond.
