I created a 4000 gallon fish pond in my backyard last year around summer, and bought 8 koi. They were about 5 inches when I got them. I fed them until winter came, and then just left them. When I went back out this summer, I discovered about 30 babies. They are about 1 inch long. I was wondering how big do they have to be before the threat of being eaten by their parents is over with?
