can anyone tell me what would I come up with if I crossed a scaleless koi with a scaled koi. Also I have about 30 fry in my pond and cant tell if they are goldfish or koi. I have some with black and white spots, some silver and some yellow and I looked with a magnifiying glass and did not see whiskers. Tey really dont look like golfish but I am not sure. Is their and a age that their wiskers show up? Judy
Hi, If they don't have 2 sets of barbels (whiskers), they are not koi. How old are your fry? And how big? I was able to see whiskers on a two inch fry without using a magnifying glass. Maybe you should wait until they grow two inches?

sure thing you may be right though they look a little different. just baught 200 buterfly koi 2 to 3 in I will have some to compare with so maybe with any luck they will be koi,i am keeping my fingers crossed. Judy
