Breeding tank sequence and size

Hello, I am looking for information regarding appropriate tank size and sequence during the breeding process. For each step below (and I may have omitted important steps!) what would be the recommended tank size for 1 breeding pair and their subsequent offspring:
1. Breeding tank size?
2. First cull, recommended tank size? Leave in breeding tank? Or, recommended density of fry per cubic foot...
3. Holding tank size for fry 1-5cm (second cull)?
4. Holding tank for fry >5cm (third cull)?
I've also read of "mud ponds" in which the koi of potential show quality are placed. What are it's qualities?
