Can aquamats be used as spawning media? Can't Post
Hi all,
Researching on breeding koi and got a lot of questions from you great folks.

1) I have 3 aquamats that are the kind that are anchored on the bottom, about 2.5-3 ft long grasses. Can this be used for spawning media?

2)Also have a pearls of paradise 6 ft diameter show tank. Is this suitable for a spawning "pool"?

I would not use the mats as spawning media get you some nylon rope and unravel it in 4ft lengths so you can take out of the pond easy while the koi are spawning, make sure you attach the ropes to the side of the pond so you dont have to disturb the koi when they are spawning and return the ropes so to gather more eggs.

I would think that would be a good size for spawning the koi
