Conditioning food for a spawn Can't Post

What is the best food for conditioning the koi to spaw? Crazy All I know is a high protein food. Can someone be more detailed, and how do I set up the filter in the fry tank and keep the fry from being sucked into the pump?Crazy

We have more than dttk and TanSl on the forum. There are others that are just a noligable as them, dont you think. Although they are very good I am not waiting on just them two to reply to my post.

Hi. High protein foods are earthworms, daphnia, acquatic worms ie tubifex. However, watch where you get these. Frozen seem to be recomended as they dont carry disease.

We didn't do anything special other than high protein koi food and our pond spawned last May! I have been feeding my 10 surviving babies crushed koi food since their birth. And, if some do turn out to be a mix of koi/goldfish (which I don't think to be the case) I would never cull/kill them - it has been so much fun to watch them grow! We are novices and just enjoying the whole miracle!

supaverm is not even a type of food. supaverm is supposed to to get rid of flukes. its also apparently deadly to all types of goldfish.

lilhelper, what was the purpose of your post?

Frozen or live food, similiar to tropical fish.
