Confused about Koi... Can't Post

Ok, we have 6 koi. One of them, Mercury, we think is pregant. We have 4 goldfish as well and we removed them all so now we have only the koi in the pond. How do we know for sure if Mercury is pregant and if she is, how do we take care of the babies she might have? I'm just very confused because we've had a pond for about 2 years and nothing like this has ever happened. Oh yeah, will the other koi eat the babies? Just wondering. If you know please e mail me at LostWithin17@aol.com. Thanks, Juli.

A female koi with eggs are pretty easy to determine because the lower portion of the stomach expands like a ballon. However unless you want to artificially inseminate the eggs and fertilize it with male sperm, then better let nature do it's thing.

Please click on the icon above "Search Posts", then select Koi Breeding in the 1st search box, and type eggs in the second. Finally, click on the Search button below. This will give you a lot of information of what you can do.

Best Regards
