Culling for tobies Can't Post
Final cull for tobies was finished this morning before the trip to the mud pond.
It amazes me that these monsters are from the same hatch!

This is really helpful. Are the medium sized fry considered tobys as well or only the immensely large ones? In the second picture, right above and below the black colored fry are what I mean by medium sized.

for the reasons in culling them ... aside from cannibalism

will they really be the ugliest?
will they be the smallest of their siblings?

That is a myth that I will dispell right now. Although some tobies as any other fry may be of poor quality, I have kept tobies in the past that have developed into superior koi.

right, i always thought culling your fastest growing kois is pretty counter productive

Hello Kief Your really serious bout breeding your kois now huh. Did you sell all kois that came before this batch? How many are you keeping with you? Can you give me a quotation on how much you are selling 5" kois? hehehehehe im thinking of starting here MAYBE just an aquarium set up.
