Do Koi only spawn once per season? Can't Post

Hi, I am very new to the Koi scene. I aquired 5 lil guys and dolls three years ago, This year after I put them in the outdoor pond 2 of the guys started chasing my lil doll around and a few hours later I noticed eggs on the water plants, I checked the next day, most of the eggs are now gone (eaten).

I have bred, tropical fish in the past so I know their spawnng habits but I know very little about koi (so far) but, I am looking up info and reading anything and everything I can find but, what I can't find is "do koi only spawn once per season"?. So I know if I should be ready to remove eggs into another pool this season.
Thanks in advance
Lane.

hello, i know this is a little late but it still may help you i have read and do not quote me lol but i read that you can get them to spawn again by covering their tank lowering the temperature very slowly and not feeding them for a week or so and they could spawn again but you cant always believe what you read so maybe you should try checking that out a little more

I'm new here and seen this post so I thought I would replay.

Koi can be spawned every FULL Moon which is about 3 times per month and you can keep track of the next full moon at http://aa.usno.navy.mil/data/docs/MoonPhase.html#y2005. You must drain about 6" of water around 6-7pm the night of a full moon and refill it as well as put some "Green Foods" for them to each and also something for them to spawn on (ex, lilly pads, thick long grass) Then you will need to wake up around 2-3am and check the pond and you will see them all in one corner together around the grass you put in the water for them to spawn on and they will be eating the eggs which now you will need to take the eggs out and place them in a large tank or pond with nothing in it that can harn the eggs and baby koi when they hatch. It will take about 3 days to hatch make sure you do daily water changes and keep AIR! in the tank/pond. You can start off feeding them hard boiled egg yoke make sure you grad it up and dont feed to much as it will make the water dirty. You cant use any filters as this will suck up the baby koi and kill them so stick to daily water change and keeping air in the tank/pond with an air pump. Follow them steps and you should have nice baby koi =)
