EGGS? Can't Post

What is the difference between the yellow clear ones, and white ones with a clear fuzz around them? they are two days old.

Dear Gracie

The fuzzy ones are dead. it's fungus that is attaching itself to the eggs. Try to take these out as it can spread to the healthy ones.

You should treat the water with metholine blue this will reduce the fungus effectivity.

also, today i decided to skim the bottom on kid pool that has the parents and HUNDREDS of mosqito fish. I swear, I must have picked up about 300 maybe more additional eggs. So, I transfered those too. Figured they might have a better chance in with the others.
was that a bad idea?

I'm pretty sure most to all aquatick places will have metholine blue in stock. If not try malachite green will do.

we where thinking of swiching the fry to a 200 gallon fish tank. Once they hatch that is. Right now we have the eggs in a LARGE bucket with aeration. But once they start hatching, it will be way to small. what do you think?

I just went to look at the eggs! I can't stop!
Is it common for us to have so many white fungus type?

BTW(by the way) I think one of our other Koi is a female too. But we only noticed that the bigger one was the one to lay her eggs. Do think our Orange one will too?Crazy

I think you should either get a large paddling pool or build your self a pond for your fry. Make it as big as you can. No need to dig holes just get some of those 18 by 9 inch blocks If you have room say 20 foot bt 20 foot and 3 blocks high. Fill it with water from your pond, put an air blower in and get as many bags of live daphnia as you can get your hands on.

Also pee in a bucket just the once, and add half of that to the water.

You realy whant the water to be as green as possible with free floating algea as you can get it before your eggs hatch, also put in a bucket of soil.

mature females or the best type of female koi to lay eggs needs to be 12 inches long and 3 years old before the eggs are realy worth hatching and rearing.

we only have 5 large ones, that we've had for about 5/6 years now. we bought them at about 4/5inches. Now, they're anywhere from 28-30inches long.

where and how do you get daphnia?

Went to a pet store last night and the guy was like, that's a flower. LOL and I was in the aquiainme side.

So, it'll be okay to transfer them once they start hatching to wading pool? Ill go get one today, not expensive at all.

Just want a day to make sure water is okay!

Dear Gracie

The pee is to encourage inflosora to grow and the algea to grow incredibly fast. Your fry need to eat this as first food. Daphnia also eat this stuff and it will make them grow fast also.

Heres a website on daphnia .
