Hi all, Had planned to start breeding koi as a hobby next spring, was going to build tanks, etc this winter/fall, have everything ready... Then Mother Nature took her course, I was out by my pond one morning and it was pretty obvious, my big platinum ogon was knockin' hell out of my momma kohaku. I put out some filter mats and some hyacinth with a couple of airstones, ended up with three hyacinth whose roots were just covered with eggs. Put them in a wire basket in the pond to protect them, converted my plant filter to a nursery, now I'm feedin' my babies three times a day, so far no big die-off. They're starting to show some different colors (yellow, white, black) and I can already tell which ones are gonna be the tobies. Will try to post pics in a day or so. Koifishgirl, if you're reading this, give me a shout, I'm setting up an indoor koi farm near Chattanooga, I'll show ya my tanks if you'll show me your ponds. Might be fun. Chuck
