Future Eggs Can't Post

I was thinking if it is possible to transfer the eggs to some type of (finely netted) large floating basket in your existing pond. Everyone seems to transfer the eggs to another pond. It just seems easier to keep the eggs in the same water, same filter and same pump. What do you think?

Re: [nova117] Future Eggs [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi Nova,

I have noticed some of the posts(a lot actually) were not answered or not getting serious response fr the experts. They must be busy lately especially during this harvest season. Some may have established their own circle and only responded within. Only posters like Thiamhwa, Paul, Koi kit, Yujian and very few others seemed dedicated enough to answer the questions posted. But most people didn't answer bcoz they are new(like me).

To go about, I would suggest you to look on the previous discussion topics. You may find your answer there.

About your q, I had the same experience and I didn't transfer the eggs and left it in the same pond. Unfortunately, none of the eggs survived. I did notice plenty of its developed by having 2 dots(the eyes) but it just stopped there. Some of the eggs were eaten by the kois and some were just floated away into the filter. I strongly suggest you to transfer into a quarantine tank and add some chemical(like S1) to protect the eggs. The eggs should have better chance of surviving provided the water quality in the Q tank is good.

Regards

Re: [ikankoiku] Future Eggs [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi Ikankoiku,

Yes, some of the postings in this Forum were not answer for various reasons, in my opinion. For example, these could be enquiries regarding products of filtration systems etc. which are not widely used by hobbyists here or there are not available for sale in our Asian countries. Hence, it is very difficult to get responses to the question asked.

In this instance regarding nova117's thread, I think there maybe only 2 or maybe 3 hobbyists
here who may had the koi breeding experience to tackle the question. Most generally do not and will certainly refrain themselves from giving silly advises. Hence, sadly, some postings will not be getting any reply in this Forum UnsureUnsure.

Regards,
Thiam Hwa

Hi Thiamhwa,

The moderators did a very good job to ensure the success of this forum. It must have taken a lot of your time. I just felt pitty to those who really need helps and not getting response.

Regards
