Help ASAP! Can't Post

Hey guys, I was just searching the web and came upong this forum! Signed up, and now I'm here. Well I'm pretty new to the koi scene but my dad is a big fanatic. One of his kois just laid some eggs and they are hatched now. But now I'm not sure what I should do now. I just want some tips so that my dad's koi will have a higher survival rate hopefully. Do I need to put a air-pump? Is too much air bad? What should I feed it? When should I start feeding them food? BTW, I believe they are about 1 day old right now. Okay, that's all for now. Thanks in advance guys! Smile

Start hatching some brine shrimp eggs for them, unless they are in the main pond with the rest of the koi, if this is the case there wont be many to make it because the larger koi will eat them. If you can remove the large koi and put them somewhere else you might have a chance at raiseing a few of the fry. If you have a skimmer and large pump in the pond most will get caught up in that and wont make it, my advice to you is just let them be and see how many make it and next time prepare yourselfs for the spawn and you will have bettter luck.
If they are by thereselve then you need to like I said start some brine sprimp hatching and get ready for a fun filled experience. If you have a tank say around 50 gallon put them in it and do a 50% water change everyday and put a airstone in the bottom of the tank as to give them plenty of oxegyn. Start you a small filter in the tank with some nylon stocking are the pump to keep the fry from being sucked into the filter .
The perfect man to help you with this is kgt1233 he has raised some nice koi. PM. him he could I am sure give you some very good advice.Wink
