How do i generally tell the sex of koi Can't Post
There are ways like the body shape, size, white dots on the gill covers and yellowing on the head, that are used to tell the sex of koi. Can anyone please, please tell me more? What other methods are there?

Other than extraction of milt and seeing them spawn is the only other way. Although I dont know how to get milt from a koi. Best was is the gill covers in the spring, and the female is so full of eggs you cant help but tell.

In the spring of the year when the koi are ready to spawn that is when the temps are around 68 degs. you can net the koi and fill of the gill plate covers and if it is rough it is a male for sure, the females gill covers will be smooth and she will be fat, very fat and full of eggs, so when they get ready to spawn you will know and the females bellie up pretty fat. Just like a pg. woman. They also have to be sexualy mature to be able to tell, at least a year old. The only other way is like I said and that is to get milt from the male.

KFG has been having computer troubles so I'll jump in. The methods you mention are used by those with years of experience and a far better eye than most of us posess.
To check for milt you take the koi in your hands and use your thumb to press gently but firmly on the belly back towards the vent. If a milky substance (milt) comes out it is a male. The koi must be large enough to be producing milt for this to work.
If you are trying to sex small tosai, good luck. It is always a lucky guess when they are immature.

Yep, it crashed again, and I advise everyone to stay off the code threads as I just found out these can crash your pc. I dont know if that thread had anything to do with my pc crashing or noyt. But it got me to thinkingCrazy

Its the thread in Koi. App. that no one can understand, these types of coded thread can cause serious problems. I dont know if this one can but I looked up on the internet and they said to stay away from coded things such as this.

While the thread KFG is referring to "appears" to be harmless, it is best to err on the safe side. (This one seems to be another example of a poster trying to advertise something from a Chinese source, but they didn't use a compatible translation algorithmCrazy)
Sometimes selfstyled hackers and virus creators will screw up and send their sh_t in machine code instead of hiding it in an executable file. Occasionally an email will show up in my inbox that is nothing but apparant gobbldygook, but it is really open code machine language that only an experience security systems analyst can make sense of.
Bottom line, if you are going to use the internet for anything at all you need to follow some basic CYA rules.
1. Make sure you have up-to-date antivirus software installed on your computer.
2. Download at least 2 or 3 antispyware programs and keep them running in the background at all times. (I use Norton, Spybot Search and destroy, Microsoft Antispyware, AdAware, and Spysubtract)
3. Run behind at least one firewall. (I use Norton and MSIE)
